City of Lubbock District 4 and 5 Councilmembers are hosting a joint community meeting on September 12 at Alcove Trails Middle School to discuss the City’s proposed solid waste transfer station project. Councilmembers Steve Massengale and Dr. Jennifer Wilson, along with Director of Solid Waste, Brenda Haney, will be there to give a presentation on the project, community impact, and to answer questions.
The proposed site for the solid waste transfer station is just north of Marsha Sharp Fwy between Alcove and Upland Avenues. The proposed site is about half a mile south of Alcove Trails Middle School, a mile northeast of Bennett Elementary, 1.5 miles northeast of Frenship High School, and 1.5 miles west of Oak Ridge Elementary.
