Tigers Taking Care of Tigers: Bennett Elementary Caring and Sharing Food Drive

BEN Caring and Sharing
Bennett Elementary families were lined up for more than just morning drop-off last Thursday, they were lined up to give back to families in need. The Bennett Caring and Sharing Food Drive kicked off bright and early with students jumping out of their parent's cars with backpacks and food donations to stock the Caring and Sharing closet for the fall semester.

"This food drive is organized by our awesome Bennett PTA parents each year," said Media Specialist, Amy George. "Every week, we send backpacks home with some of our very own Bennett families who need help to supplement their food needs over the weekend."

Volunteers lined the sidewalks and entrances of the school to collect and sort the large amount of donations being brought in.

"The Bennett PTA is overwhelmed by the generosity and heart of our school," said PTA President, Hannah Ducas. "The PTA was able to fill the Caring and Sharing closet with all of the donations from our Bennett families. It was amazing to see the donations come in all day with sweet smiles and giving hearts!"

Ducas said she hopes to continue to teach their Bennett students what it means to SERVE every day.
