Planting New Roots at Bennett Elementary

Each year, the second-grade class at Bennett Elementary tends to the campus garden and grows various types of produce. Radish, carrots, lettuce and more have all been grown previously, and students are able to learn patience, hard work and responsibility.

This year's second-grade class made the garden their very own by stamping their personal handprints over the previous classes handprints. Each painted hand symbolized a fresh start to this year's garden and gave students a sense of pride and ownership over this new responsibility.

Students were excited to take the first step in tending to the campus garden. We can't wait to see the great fruits and veggies grown this year.
