Soup, Sacks and Holiday Greetings at Bennett Elementary

By Amy George

Bennett StudentsBennett Elementary students have been learning how simple it can be to serve others by helping the Wolfforth community. Boys and girls have been busy decorating grocery sacks and creating greeting cards to help make the holidays a little brighter for those who are served by Meals on Wheels in Wolfforth.

The Wolfforth Meals on Wheels uses up to 275 sacks per weekend to deliver meals to seniors in the Wolfforth and Lubbock areas. Bennett classes have volunteered to decorate more than 700 grocery sacks and make both Thanksgiving and Christmas cards to help brighten those deliveries.

Bennett families are encouraged to also get involved by participating in the canned soup drive this Thursday, November 21st. The school is asking for 10 oz pop-top style soups (chicken noodle, vegetable, tomato, potato, etc.) All donations will go directly to Meals on Wheels to help the residents in Wolfforth.

Now that's The Frenship Way!
