Bond Election Gets Closer - District Continues to Inform Voters

The Frenship ISD Board of Trustees called for a bond election in the January board meeting. The election is set for May 2. The District is encouraging all residents to register to vote, if they aren't already, and to learn the facts about the election.
 
To be eligible to vote in the May bond election, you must:
  • be a U.S. citizen
  • be a resident of Lubbock county
  • be 18 years old (you may register at 17 years and 10 months)
  • not be a convicted felon (unless a person's sentence is completed, including any probation or parole)
  • not be declared mentally incapacitated by a court of law
  • live in the Frenship ISD boundary lines
  • be registered to vote

Important Dates:

Deadline to Register to Vote: April 2

Early Voting: April 20 - 28

Election Day: May 2

Frenship ISD Proposed Bond Projects and Anticipated Costs:
  • New High School: $165,000,000
  • New Middle School: $38,000,000
  • New Elementary School: $28,000,000
  • FHS renovations: $23,000,000
  • Re-purpose Ninth Grade Center: $10,000,000
  • Re-purpose Frenship Middle School: $8,600,000
  • Elementary Renovations: $2,400,000
  • Capital Improvements**: $24,700,000
Total: $299,700,000

** Capital Improvements include: Safety and Security Enhancements, Infrastructure Upgrades, HVAC, and Roofing
