Parrish, a Bennett Elementary kindergarten and first grade Life Skills teacher, was selected as a KLBK Teacher of the Week. Humbled by the nomination, Parrish was asked to create a video that could be aired on KLBK. 

 

In true Parrish fashion, he grabbed his ukulele and climbed a tree to record a few words of encouragement to parents and a song he wrote for his students. 

 

"There are so many teachers out there working their tails off to keep their students engaged during these unpredictable times, and the endless list of people who deserve this award does not stop in the classroom," he said. "So, I would like to thank all the parents for their continued support and for working with your precious children at home."
