Sara King Selected as Frenship High School Lead Counselor

During the February school board meeting, King was officially announced and recognized as the Frenship High School lead counselor, a role she is excited to step into after serving as an FHS counselor for many years.

“Over the seven years I have worked in the Counseling Suite at FHS, I have been blessed to work under three amazing lead counselors who each prepared me for this role in their own unique ways,” said King. “I am grateful for their mentorship and guidance over the years and am excited to jump into my new role using their shared expertise as my guide.”

In her new position, King will be responsible for supervising the FHS counseling team and overseeing things such as student scheduling, course planning, and college and career preparation. But it goes beyond academics. King will also work closely with staff and parents to address the needs of students to ensure their personal and social well-being.

“She possesses compassion, empathy, and all the leadership qualities that you want in a lead counselor,” said Greg Hernandez, Frenship High School Principal. “Having her as a counselor the last several years has been amazing, and we are so excited to have her continue serving our families in this new role.”

King says she is looking forward to tackling the new position head-on and continuing the long tradition of excellence that Frenship provides to its families.

“I am filled with the excitement for the challenges ahead of me,” said King.  “My grandparents instilled two very strong beliefs in me. One was to work hard, and the second was to love people very well. I am very grateful to Frenship for giving me the opportunity to do both of those things every single day that I come to work.”

Congratulations, Sara King, on your selection as the new lead counselor of Frenship High School!
