Before students return from summer break, the staff at Bennett Elementary School participates in a service project each year. The intention is to connect with each other and members of the community through service.
Principal Kelly Eleuterius and the leadership team at Bennett came together and chose the Villa in Wolfforth Assisted Living Home as this year’s service project. They reached out to the staff there to determine the specific needs of the residents.
Each grade level chose different items to bring for the donation. These supplies included socks, slippers, lotion, ChapStick, prizes for Bingo, and personal hygiene items. Bennett staff also wrote letters of encouragement for staff and residents at the Villas of Wolfforth.
Eleuterius shared that the annual service project is a vital part of the culture at Bennett and an example of the district-wide initiative, the Frenship Way.
"The Frenship Way is to serve and this year, we chose to volunteer,” said Eleuterius. “When we engage in meaningful work for others, it sets the tone for our community, staff, and campus.”
The motto this year at Bennett Elementary is “One Team, One Goal, and One Tiger Family.” Eleuterius and the Bennett Leadership Team wanted to find a way to bring that message to life by giving back and serving the Wolfforth community.
“We couldn't think of a better way to embody this theme than to have the opportunity to serve our Wolfforth family,” said Eleuterius.
Thank you, Bennett staff, for your service to the Villa in Wolfforth Assisted Living Home.
