Terra Vista Middle School Seeks Community Votes for New Sensory Room

Frenship students in the Life Skills program at Terra Vista Middle School may have brand new accommodations soon. TVMS has been selected as a State Farm Neighborhood Assist® Top 200 Finalist among a pool of nation-wide entries. If awarded the grant, TVMS plans to renovate a Sensory Room for their Life Skills students.

As a finalist, TVMS is seeking votes from the community to help them win the $25,000 grant from State Farm®. According to StateFarm.com, the program awards $25,000 grants to 40 nonprofit organizations to help fund neighborhood education, safety and community development projects.

The public vote started August 15 and closes August 24 at 11:59 pm ET. U.S. residents who are 18 and older with a valid email address can vote for Frenship’s cause at https://www.neighborhoodassist.com/entry/2011118.

“We are honored to be in the top 200 organizations selected as finalists, but we need the community’s support to win,” said Keith Patrick, FISD Director of Entrepreneurship and Innovation. “We are so close to making this new Sensory Room a reality for our students and we are eager to see how the community responds to their need.”

Anyone voting is allowed up to 10 votes per day. On September 25, the top 40 vote-receiving causes will be announced at www.neighborhoodassist.com and a $25,000 grant will be awarded to each of the affiliated nonprofits.

Don't forget to vote for TVMS up to 10 times per day until August 24!
