Hello, my name is Amanda Lara. I am a Lubbock native and a Frenship alum. I have been in education for 20 years, 14 years of which, the Art teacher here at Bennett Elementary. I love being an art teacher! So much joy comes from having the opportunity to give students a space to be creative, teaching them about different artists, their techniques, teaching new skills and encouraging them to see beauty and art in everything. One of the greatest gifts of being an art teacher is watching a student create something unique, being proud of what they have done and watching their confidence grow.

It is also an honor to be the Advisor for the 5th grade Leadership Team here at Bennett. The goal of the leadership team is to teach students how to collaborate and build skills to take with them throughout life, to improve our schools and communities by working on several projects throughout the school year.
