Find a good book to read!

How Do you Find a
Just Right Book
to read on your own?

My first rule in finding a good book is to open it up and look at the inside!

If you can't open it up, then you can ask a friend, parent, teacher or read a review.

We also encourage our students to use the 5 Finger Rule!

Another area to consider is content -
Books are written for a specific audience age group.
The AR Bookfinder is a great free resource for finding books that are within a student's interest level.

No login required!  It can be beneficial even if your school is not using AR.
You can search for a book by title - or look under the COLLECTIONS tab.
It will give you lists of
- Award books,
- State Lists,
- and What Kids Are Reading (TOP 20 for a specific grade level)

AR Bookfinder uses these interest levels:
- LG (Lower Grades, K–3)
- MG (Middle Grades, 4–8)
- MG+ (Middle Grades Plus, 6 and up)
- UG (Upper Grades, 9–12)
